This year marks the 50th anniversary in the boating business for Mercer Marine Supply. It was built in 1959 by Harvey Lockwood Jr., who was the founder of the business located at 1117 Rt. 33 in Hamilton Square. In a town of mainly farms back then, the business was one of few that was located in this area for some time. Being the only boat store in the area, it became a successful place where all boaters and fisherman came to have their boats serviced, engine parts ordered, and to share fish stories. In 1992 Harvey's son Bob bought the business and made it what it is today. With fine boat lines such as Four Winns, SeaHunt, G3, Glastron, and Lowe, Bob took the business to different heights.
